**Mary Dumbreck**, later **Mary Gibson** (26 December 1846 – 22 July 1923), was a Scottish-born New Zealand member of the Gibson family. She was the wife of **[[people:james_gibson_1837|James Gibson]]** and lived with her family on the West Coast.

===== Marriage and family =====

Mary married **[[people:james_gibson_1837|James Gibson]]** at St Nicholas Presbyterian Church in Lanark on 13 December 1867. A family record states that Mary and James travelled from Scotland aboard the *Westland*, arriving at Port Chalmers on 21 April 1879. It records Mary as aged 32 at arrival.

===== Westport and death =====

Mary died at Westport on 22 July 1923. The family record names Orowaiti Middle Cemetery as her burial place, while the gravestone was located at Westport Cemetery.
